Course Description

The course aims to promote the knowledge of Computational Mathematics and Computer Science to students in order to manage data in a structured way. Concepts such as function, domain of definition, set of values, even-limited-periodic functions-symmetry, monotonicity and extrema, limits of a function at point xo, limits of a function at infinity, continuity, uniform continuity and properties of continuous functions, asymptotes, differential calculus (derivatives) and their applications, exponential and logarithmic functions and integrals are explained. Students also learn to manage and analyze data by creating filters, graphs and using functions in Excel, logic diagrams, description of algorithms, variables, data types, Boolean logic,  introductory concepts of structured programming with the basic structures of sequence, selection (if statements) and repetition (for, while statements), strings (pointer access, methods) and data structures (lists, tuples, dictionaries) with application to Python.
